Goodbye Facebook - Day 1

Last night before going to bed I deactivated my Facebook account for lent. I proceeded to uninstall the app on my iPad and my Smartphone. At first I thought it would take a couple of days before I really thought too much about not having it, but it was a lot quicker than I thought. I was up a majority of the night last night with my 8 month old daughter. She's battling a little bit of a cold right now and every time she coughs she wakes up...by wakes up I mean CRIES BLOODY MURDER. I remember a couple of times in the middle of the night reaching over to grab my phone to check what was going on in "Facebook World." I would unlock my phone and then remember that Lent had started and set it back down. It caused me to wonder how many times in my day I reach over and grab my phone and check Facebook out of habit. That I needed something to entertain myself for a fraction of a second and know that Facebook can do that. It will be interesting to see how long I catch myself doing this. It will also be interesting to see how many more text messages, phone calls and e-mails I receive as a result of not being on Facebook.
