Nike+ Running App

Since I began running a few years ago I have always boasted about my Garmin Forerunner 205. I know that there are now newer/sleeker/sexier models, but I still like it. It does everything that I need to do (and then some) and it does it well.

Until recently it was the only form of GPS technology that I used consistently to measure and keep track of my runs. I have begun using the Nike+ running app and have definitely found it to be a great alternative and maybe even replacement.

I have used several other apps for running, but this is by far the most fun. I love the fact that I can challenge my friends to challenges. It makes running less of a chore and more of a fun competition.

The app has some awesome features that I wish my Garmin had like being able to set a Goal Distance" for a run and it notifies you at the halfway point, but then also gives you a bit of motivation when you are almost finished with your race. They also have some professional running voices that give you encouragement at the end of your runs. When else will Tim Tebow or Kara Goucher congratulate me on a great workout? haha

It's a great app and a whole lot of fun! If you are carrying your smartphone with you on your runs you should install it!
